The Geneva Auto Show will return in 2024 with a new ‘affordable’ concept for exhibitors and visitors.

The exhibition has been held annually until now, but has not been held since it was canceled early in 2020 due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

The organizers plan to hold the exhibition from February 26 to March 3 next year at the Palexpo Convention Center, its traditional home near Geneva Airport, with a changed exhibition concept and reduced hotel costs.

Organizers have developed a new concept for the show to significantly reduce the high exhibition costs that have plagued many car companies.

“We provide exhibitors with preconfigured booths so they don’t have to build their own booths. We call this plug and play,” Mesquita said. said.

The booth is smaller than the previous one and the design is not as fancy. “Exhibitors just need to choose the color of their booth and do their branding,” Mesquita said.

“Of course, exhibitors are equally welcome to have their own booth,” he added.

In the program, we are also trying to reduce the expensive hotel accommodation expenses during the program period. Hotel owners have raised prices significantly in the past.

“We have signed framework agreements with 16 hotels in all categories at reasonable prices. There will be no last-minute surcharges,” Mesquita said.

Organizers expect 10,000 journalists and 300,000 visitors to attend the event over the seven days. This is much more modest than the last auto show in March 2019, which had 600,000 visitors.

The show is sponsored by the Qatar Tourism Board and a similar event will be held in the country’s capital, Doha, from October 5-14 this year.
