Tesla announces price cuts for Model 3 and Model Y again in China
Beijing (Gusgou)- On October 24, US electric vehicle (EV) maker Tesla announced new price cuts for its Model 3 and Model Y EVs sold in China.

After price adjustments, the subsidized starting price for the Model 3 lineup is 265,900 yuan ($36,660), while the Model Y series starts at 288,900 yuan ($39,840).
Specifically, the post-subsidy price of the Model 3 RWD has dropped from the previous 279,900 yuan ($38,590) to 265,900 yuan ($36,660). The Model 3 Performance has dropped in price from 367,900 yuan ($50,730) to 349,900 yuan ($48,250).
In the meantime, after adjustment, the Model Y RWD now costs 288,900 yuan ($39,840) from the previous 316,900 yuan ($43,700). Additionally, the Model Y Long Range has been slashed by 40,000 yuan ($5,515) and retails for 357,900 yuan ($49,350).
In particular, China’s 2022 National New Energy Vehicle Purchase Subsidy Policy is expected to end on December 31, 2022, after which newly registered vehicles will no longer be able to enjoy subsidies. Additionally, Tesla emphasized that orders placed at the new price after October 24, 2022 will not be eligible for insurance subsidies.
