Subaru teases new 2024 Crosstrek before unveiling in Chicago

Below you can see Crosstrek in the global market. Hopefully the US version will keep the design consistent. As for what’s under the hood, it’s a different story. In other markets, Crosstrek has a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder e-Boxer that makes 143 horsepower and 139 lb-ft, and a hybrid motor that makes 13 hp and 48 lb-ft. It seems highly unlikely that the US will get an e-Boxer setup.

Subaru’s website says, “Sign up now to be the first to see the upgraded power, advanced technology and enhanced safety of the all-new 2024 Crosstrek.”

Today, Crosstrek’s 2.0-liter base boxer engine makes 152 horsepower and the larger 2.5-liter engine makes 182 horsepower. If the 2024 model has “upgraded power,” that rules out a less powerful hybrid setup.
