2023 Rivian R1T, Genesis GV70 top new car reviews of the week
The calendar year may be nearing its end and beginning, but the automotive calendar has been spinning out 2023 models for at least six months. We catch up with some high-end electric cars and German brands, as well as revisit two excellent related sports cars.
This is what got us going this week.
The 2023 Rivian R1T electric pickup excels in many ways, including its off-road capabilities, blistering performance, advanced technology, innovative stowage and three battery pack sizes. It’s not cheap, though.
The Jaguar I-Pace electric crossover blends attractive design with traditional Jaguar cabin amenities to deliver strong performance and versatility. It has a TCC rating of 8.2 out of 10.
This starter luxury SUV brand has a TCC rating of 7.2 out of 10, with a quirky body and a great interior.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class Review
A crossover SUV with a slightly retro profile, the 2023 GLB combines refreshing style, good performance and a good safety score, earning it a TCC rating of 6.8 out of 10.
The 2023 Audi Q7 sits right in the middle between BMW’s muscle and Mercedes-Benz’s elegance. It’s 6.7.
America’s best-selling sedan continues to compete with popular crossover SUVs with a wide range of powertrain options and superior standard safety features. Earning his TCC rating of 6.7 out of 10.
The 2023 Audi A7 is a sedan (or wait, a hatchback) with strong turbocharged power, slim styling and a huge trunk that contributes to a TCC rating of 6.6 out of 10.
It may be Porsche’s smallest SUV, but the Macan combines sharp handling and good turbo power with a premium interior. 6.4 out of 10.
About 5 seconds to 60 mph, about 10 seconds to daylight: It’s like the 2023 Z4 knows us. Roadster scores 6.2.
With a new manual transmission, the 2023 Supra opens up a more attractive sports car profile. However, due to its limited utility, the TCC rating is limited to 5.8 out of 10.
The Jetta’s classy dynamics, comfortable interior and affordability earn it a score of 5.7 out of 10 on the TCC scale.
