Millions of responsible drivers enjoy playing racing games, and, on the other hand, there are plenty of reckless motorists out there who have never even touched a PlayStation or Xbox controller. This isn’t the first time video games have been linked to antisocial behavior in the real world. It’s been said that games like Grand Theft Auto increase violent tendencies among players, but the findings of several studies claim these games don’t result in increased real-world violence.

Per Drive, a study published in 2020 looked into the effects of racing video games on driving and found that the realistic graphics and life-like simulation create a “perception of driving in the real world and racing cars at high speed with no negative consequence.”
