New Delhi, February 22: German luxury car giant BMW has unveiled the performance-oriented X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition SUVs. The unveiling of these models comes on the heels of facelifted models of the newly announced standard X5 and X6 SUVs.

BMW X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition – Powertrain:

Both the just-launched BMW X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition SUVs offer 616bhp and 750Nm of torque from the 4.4-liter V8 engine with hybrid technology. A massive internal combustion engine is mated to a small 48-volt mild hybrid system that adds 12bhp of power and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. They can do a 0-100kmph sprint in just 3.9 seconds, have a top speed of 250kmph and can go as high as 290kmph with the M Driver’s Pack. Kia EV9 enters production line, world premiere by end of 2023. Unlike the previous versions, the new BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition SUVs are equipped with an M xDrive all-wheel drive system and an active M differential, coupled with wheel slip limitation close to the actuators.

BMW X5 M Competition and X6 M Competition – Design and function:

The new BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition are equipped with newly designed Matrix LED headlights and a large, all-black external kidney grille. The cabin features an M logo graphic, an M leather steering wheel and an ambient light bar with new carbon gearshift paddles. The luxury performance SUV also comes standard with M multifunction seats, fine-grained Merino full-leather trim, knee pads, Harman Kardon sound system and panoramic sunroof. Both SUVs offer an array of personalization options to accommodate the individual tastes of their owners.
