Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL) is set to inaugurate a series of groundbreaking driverless races at the UAE’s prestigious Yas Marina Formula 1 track, utilizing vehicles from Japan’s premier open-wheel series, Super Formula, capable of speeds exceeding 185mph.
Scheduled for April 27, the inaugural event aims to demonstrate the impressive capabilities of autonomous driving technology, bringing together top-tier computer scientists, coders, and developers in a thrilling competition.

The participating vehicles, based on the Dallara EAV24 chassis derived from the Super Formula SF23 design, boast turbocharged four-cylinder racing engines, harnessing the power of a two-liter Honda unit coupled with a six-speed gearbox.
Equipped with cutting-edge sensor technology, including Sony cameras, ZF ProWave radars, and Falcon Kinetic lidars, as well as advanced onboard computer systems, the vehicles have undergone rigorous testing to ensure optimal performance on the track.
