First spy images of Skoda’s excellent next-gen test prototype released reveal design details

New Delhi, June 1: Czech automaker Skoda is preparing to launch the next-generation Superb and Kodiak later this year. The company released the first teaser image of the new-generation Skoda Superb executive sedan in April, revealing only its stylish dark silhouette.

Well, Spy Shutterbug has given us its first glimpse of the next-gen Superb while it’s been busy with its testing rounds. According to reports, the Superb test prototype model in full camouflage was caught during testing in the Austrian Alps, presumably undergoing a rigorous brake test. The Tata Altros has been updated with an electric sunroof and other features, making it India’s cheapest hatchback with sunroof.

Considering the series of spy images, it can be said that the next-gen Skoda Superb will keep its design language of its stunning styling even in the new avatar. The new model appears to adopt a more evolved restyling with a low-slung front grille featuring vertical slats, flanked by sleek, highly stylized LED headlights. and a wider new air dam that flaunts vertical vents on the sides.

The rear façade of the all-new Superb Test Mule looks even more premium and sophisticated than before, with attractive taillight clusters that recall Audi styling. The rear bumper also appears to have a pair of reflector strips. The wheels on this test prototype were seen secured in a dedicated test rig. Solid mechanical and technical details of the next-generation Skoda Superb are lacking at the moment, but a strong hybrid powertrain option is expected. The all-new Super Busedan is set to hit the Indian car market by the end of this year and is expected to be locally assembled to keep prices down and ensure better sales. The next-generation Skoda Kodiak Premium SUV is also expected to arrive sometime in 2024.
