BYD Releases Exterior Images of BYD Sealgull BEV

Shanghai (Gasgou)- BYD recently released a series of design renderings for a new battery electric vehicle (BEV) model in its Ocean series called BYD Seagull, which is primarily targeted at younger consumers.

The BYD Seagull will reportedly range in price from RMB 80,000 to RMB 100,000.

According to the image, the Seagull has a design concept of “aesthetics of the sea”, but compared to Dolphin and others, it leans towards a sportier style overall. Sharper body lines incorporating cyberpunk elements. The slanted light his strip of headlights resembles ice skating tracks on ice. The grill is shaped like a seagull spreading its wings and taking flight.

The sides of the vehicle resemble the wingspan of a seagull, with dark decorative strips slightly raised at the skirt line, and the floating roof also represents the posture of a seagull in flight.

It uses the e-platform 3.0, has a wheelbase of 2,500mm and a wheelbase ratio of 66.1%.

The rear uses the same ‘wing’ design element as the front. A through-type tail lamp stands out.

Powering the vehicle is a permanent magnet synchronous motor that emits 55kW.
