According to Shcherbakov, in 2023 Avtotor will also start producing electric vehicles and their engines. At the new production site, construction of eight factories has been completed, with an investment of more than 5.7 billion rubles (100 million euros).
As previously reported by the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, Anton Alikhanov, in 2023 Avtotor expects to reach a production level of 50,000 to 70,000 units and will increase its production in the future. As of the end of 2021, the Kaliningrad plant has produced over 177,000 vehicles, a 13% increase from a year ago.
