Celebrating Cars After Covid-19
The 2022 edition will celebrate the 124th anniversary of the “International Automobile, Cycle and Sports Exhibition” that took place for the first time in Paris in 1898.
The last time the biennial event took place in 2018. Then the coronavirus pandemic shook the entire world. Now, the show is back with new car models.
“After the 2018 edition of the Mondial de l’Auto and after two years of health crisis, this event will consecrate the long-awaited happiness of being able to meet again for this great celebration of the automobile,” reads the official editorial.
The Mondial de l’Auto, as it is called in French, will honor numerous beautiful and innovative cars, mostly French and European, for an entire week.
Progress and Innovation Featured
This new edition will be more sober than the 2018 one, as it is combined with the Equip’Auto exhibition of aftermarket supplies to offer a broader experience for industry enthusiasts. A few automakers will also show their latest and greatest production and concept vehicles.
Despite this, big names in the car industry will attend the event. Car lovers will be able to discover models from Renault, Dacia, DS, Peugeot, and Jeep. Several Asian companies, China’s BYD and Great Wall, and Vietnam’s Vinfast, will also be part of the exhibition. EV startup Fisker will spotlight the Ocean SUV. And Mercedes-Benz will reveal a new model in Paris.
During the Paris Automotive Week, the Mondial de l’Auto will present a new offer for car manufacturers, with a total immersion in the car of the 21st century: electrification, hybridization, hydrogen, hyperconnectivity, etc.
