After that, Ogier caught and overtook Toyota Junior Takamoto Katsuta, scoring his fourth win of the 2021 season and extending the championship lead to Elfyn Evans to 34 points.
Asked by Dirtfish if he could understand how he succeeded in winning in Kenya, Ogier praised the rugged nature of the event to keep everything open.
“We knew it was a rally where many things could happen, and it actually happened quite a lot,” he said.
“As expected, it was a tough challenge. I don’t think anyone was disappointed in Larry Kenya. I believe a lot of entertainment will follow.
“It was a really fun experience and of course I think it was a difficult challenge,” Ogier added.
“Unlike everything else we’ve done in our careers, that’s what we expected and what we like.
