Munich Motor Show: Hits and Misses

Munich — When the Frankfurt show took place in 2019, the German automotive industry and government vowed to push what was a truly global automotive showcase into a lifeline for the domestic industry.

With the help of local carmaker BMW and Stuttgart’s neighbor Mercedes-Benz, they moved the 2021 show to Munich and renamed it IAA Mobility. And despite the pandemic, they put together an alternative car show — despite the lack of almost as many cars from almost as many continents.
