A new SUV has been added to Mazda’s current lineup, making it an indispensable model for Japanese brands. The CX-50 isn’t entirely based on the already popular CX-5, but it has many similarities, such as powertrain and cabin components. What makes the CX-50 special is its aggressive stance, ruggedness, better cabin space, improved off-road capabilities, and traction capabilities. Simply put, we will face Hyundai Tucson, Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Outback directly. As always, the powertrain choices include the CX-50 with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter 4-pot and its turbocharged version. Both are very powerful and drive all four wheels by default. The new CX-50 is sold side by side with the CX-5, but the former is much better in terms of overall appearance, is off-road compliant, and is slightly larger. So should you consider the CX-50 without comparing it to its major rivals? Well, here is your answer.
