Hybrid Energy: MG Motor India uses wind and solar hybrid energy

In collaboration, Clean Max Environment Solutions (CleanMax) will supply 4.85 MW of wind and solar hybrid power to MG Motor’s manufacturing facility in Harol.

“With this partnership, MG will reduce about 20,000 tonnes of CO2 over 15 years, which is equivalent to planting more than 130,000 trees,” the statement said.

Automakers say they have been at the forefront of promoting EV adoption in India with the launch of India’s first pure electric Internet SUV – MG ZS EV.

CleanMax is the first renewable energy company to set up a hybrid wind and solar power plant in Gujarat to sell clean energy to individual consumers and businesses. It will be expanded to 150 MW by 2022. MG’s Halol facility will begin drawing power from CleanMax’s hybrid park in Rajkot in February 2022 and will continue for 15 years.
