The upcoming Honda Hornet Street Fighter may be a rival to things like the KTM890 Duke and the Triumph Trident 660.
Honda had previously teased the Hornet concept for the first time earlier this year, but now has released a fresh sketch image that reveals details of the new Street Fighter design that will see the light of day around 2023. ..
The sketch image shows the sharp look of a middleweight street fighter with a long tank extension underneath the radiator shroud. It has a fairly pointed tail end to match the overall sharp profile. Needless to say, the retail version of the model is a bit toned down in terms of appearance, and the body panels may be a little different.
The company has the potential to add the existing 745cc in-line 2-cylinder motor on the internationally marketed NC750X to the next Hornet motorcycle. However, depending on the character of the bike, the engine may be added in a different tuning state. Overall output from this engine can be found at around 70bhp and 65Nm, but numbers may be officially announced at a later stage.
The bike will be equipped with premium hardware for suspension, brakes and tires. However, the company may be able to limit the overall cost of the bike by using a twin motor configuration instead of the in-line 4-cylinder motor found on the Honda CB650R Naked Street Fighter.
Honda is most likely to deploy motorcycles as early as 2023. Bikes also have the potential to enter the Indian market after their international debut.
