Great Wall Motor establishes European headquarters in Munich

Beijing (Gas Goo)- Great Wall Motor (GWM) of China, along with its European headquarters, has officially established a German subsidiary in Munich to support its expansion on the continent.

The European headquarters has R & D, sales and management functions. The R & D department will focus on vehicle integration, power system platforms for automotive components, intelligent driving, and V2X (Vehicles to Everything). The car maker plans to create about 300 jobs in Munich by 2022.

Local suppliers of the automotive industry chain will also benefit from the expansion of GWM. For example, SVOLT, an energy subsidiary of an automobile manufacturer, has decided to build two battery plants (cell module and pack module) in Saarland, Germany, with an investment of 2 billion euros. NoboAuto, a subsidiary of the automotive system, has ceiling plants in Uberherrn and Bremen.

The automaker will also build a lifestyle ecosystem for European users to provide charging, maintenance, repair, intelligent cockpit active services and used car services.

According to the company, it plans to open experience centers in Munich and Berlin in 2022. The car makers WEY Coffee 01 and ORACat, which had already been introduced to the continent at the 2021 Munich Motor Show, will soon be available for pre-sale and delivery. From the first half of 2022.

In particular, GWM has succeeded in expanding overseas. In October, 14,074 units were sold outside China, an increase of 30.3% from the same month of the previous year.
