Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely today announced that the Geely Galaxy L7, the first plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) model in the Galaxy new energy vehicle (NEV) series, will be launched on May 31.
As the first mass-produced model of Geely’s Galaxy series, the Galaxy L7 has attracted a great deal of attention since its introduction. Pre-orders have been available since February this year, and on April 24, it was officially shipped off the production line at Geely Automobile’s manufacturing base in Baoji. According to official data, blind pre-orders for the new model have already exceeded 10,000 units. In addition to the Galaxy L7, Geely plans to launch six more new products over the next two years.

In the eyes of industry insiders, the Galaxy L7 is seen as the catalyst for a new stage of Geely’s electrification transformation. In 2022, Geely Automobile’s total vehicle sales reached 1,432,900 units, but sales of new energy vehicles remained at 328,700 units, accounting for 23% of total sales. This performance lags behind peers such as BYD and GAC Group.
Geely has set a sales target of over 1.65 million units in 2023, and sales of new energy vehicles will double from 2022 to over 650,000 units.
Positioned as a compact SUV based on the e-CMA architecture, the Galaxy L7 debuts with three key intelligent electric technologies: the Aegis battery safety system, the NordThor exclusive hybrid engine (NordThor 8848) and the all-new Galaxy. No OS. It targets the market in the price range of 150,000 to 200,000 yuan.
As a PHEV model, the Galaxy L7 is equipped with a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces a maximum output of 163 horsepower. It is combined with the next generation NordThor 3DHT variable frequency electric drive system.
