Early opening of automated driving and ADAS test area at BMW’s new USD 304 million Czech facility

The BMW Group’s construction of a new USD 304 million (€300 million) test facility has reached a milestone, with two test sections commissioned ahead of schedule. The Future Mobility Center, located in Sokolov, about two and a half hours drive from his FIZ facility at BMW in Munich, is his OEM’s first development site in Central Europe. It is expected to be fully operational by mid-2023.

“The BMW Group’s first development site in Central Europe creates new opportunities. Sokolov provides ideal conditions and the right basis for expanding the test site. Trusted cooperation with all political representatives confirms that the choice of new location is the right one,” said Robert Sarner, Head of Property Management Region Europe and Middle East at the BMW Group. increase.
