Castrol India launches Super Mechanic Contest 2021, partner ASDC

Lubricant Major Castrol has launched the Castrol Super Mechanic Contest (SMC), the fourth edition of its Mechanic Skills Initiative.

Introduced in 2017, this initiative provides a comprehensive platform for Indian car and bicycle mechanics to hone their skills, develop their talents and be recognized nationwide.

According to the company, the theme of this year’s contest, “#SeekhengeJeetengeBadhenge,” pays homage to the passion and spirit of mechanics. It will provide them with the opportunity to improve themselves with new technological advances in the automotive sector. Participating mechanics will test their skills with other mechanics across the country to earn the title of Castrol Super Mechanic in 2021.

In an ongoing pandemic, the Super Mechanic Contest 2021 will leverage both physical and digital media to extend reach and maximize participation throughout the Indian mechanic community. We aim to have more than 100,000 mechanics in the contest.

Registration for the contest is available in nine language options: English, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Malayalam, and Tamil, with an interactive voice response (IVR) round and a dedicated web. It is done through the portal.

This year’s contest will feature a variety of new digital tools to make participation between phases more interactive and personalized. These include daily automated content that attracts participants by providing information about the contest, tips for cracking consecutive rounds to learn the fastest fingers first, and potential rewards and perceptions that the winner will receive. It is included. In addition to this, SMC 2021 also includes a mobile game that allows participating mechanics to master various assignments and challenges. External experts and winners of previous Super Mechanic Contests will also work with participants to conduct a series of live master classes to help them hone their skills.

Partnership with ASDC
In 2021, Castrol aims to quadruple the number of mechanics trained in master class compared to the number of mechanics trained in the 2019 contest. Through the Master Class session, we are working with the Indian Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) to improve the certified skills of the finalists.

Dalmendra Pradan, Minister of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of Education of the Government of India, said: “The Castrol Super Mechanic Contest is consistent with the Indian Government’s Skills India’s mission, with talent and skills from mechanics across the country. Congratulations to Castrol India for launching its fourth successful version of the contest. We hope that it will enrich the mechanic’s knowledge and skill set and realize Atmanirbhar Bharat’s vision.

Dr. Sandeep Sanwan, MD, Castrol India, said: “Castrol Super Mechanic is a contest that has consistently centered on the interests of the mechanic community. Over the years, this contest has been a talented mechanic community with the latest industry knowledge available through this platform. This year’s theme, #SeekhengeJeetengeBadhenge, has made it possible for all participants to upgrade their skill sets with a commitment that the contest will equip all participants with relevant skills that will help them overcome new changes and challenges in the future. It resonates with the spirit of preparing for the future to expand. “

Arindam Lahiri, CEO of ASDC India, said: We are pleased to partner with Castrol India. We would like to utilize this platform to train a new era of vehicle maintenance and state-of-the-art mechanics. ASDC aims to provide a comprehensive and structured knowledge paradigm and accredited learning sessions. This ensures industry relevance and enhances opportunities for sustainable living. “
