Triumph Motorcycles has rolled out the updated Triumph 660 motorcycles for the global market.
Following the new 2022 Speed Triple 1200 RS, Triumph Motorcycles has rolled out the updated Triumph 660 motorcycles for the global market. The bike has been updated with a new matte bajaj orange paint scheme to give it a new look. This bike may also be available in India later this year.
The newly introduced Matt Baja Orange / Matt Storm Gray will be sold with a set of existing color options such as Silver Ice / Diablo Red, Matt Jet Black / Silver Ice and Sapphire Black. Except for the new colors, the rest of the details of the motorcycle remain the same.
At the heart of the new bike is the same 660cc in-line 3-cylinder engine with a maximum output of 79.8bhp at 10,250rpm and a peak torque of 64Nm at 6,250rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission that comes standard with an assist and slipper clutch.
The bike will continue to have features such as riding mode, Bluetooth instrument clusters and full LED lighting. The Trident 660 continues to be one of the best bikes in this segment. It is an important rival to other bikes such as the Kawasaki Z650 and Honda CB650R.
Meanwhile, the previous unit of the Trident 660 was recalled earlier this year due to a manufacturing flaw. According to a recall document issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Triumph Trident sidestands were manufactured using incorrect raw material specifications. Defective parts were sourced from Fujin Corporation Pvt Ltd, based in Faridabad, Haryana. Recall documents relate only to 314 units in the United States alone, but units retailed in India are also affected by the latest recall. ((((Please see here for the detail).
