According to the plan, Guangzhou will build one new hydrogen production station during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), and will build a total of three stations by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, municipalities will work on building 1-2 stations with integrated hydrogen production and refueling functions, and 1-2 energy storage stations.
Additionally, between 2021 and 2025, the city will produce 35,000 kilograms of hydrogen per day (13,000 tons per year) for use in fuel cells, creating a capacity to supply more than 40,000 kilograms per day of hydrogen to vehicles. (15,000 tons per day). It can meet the hydrogen usage demands of more than 6,000 fuel cell vehicles (FCVs).
As a long-term plan, Guangzhou aims to build 50 more hydrogen filling stations from 2026 to 2030, aiming to raise the city’s cumulative amount to more than 100 stations by 2030. Hydrogen production/fueling stations and 3-4 hydrogen storage stations by 2030.
In addition, Guangzhou authorities expect that by 2030, more than 100,000 sets of fuel cell power generation systems will be installed in cars, rail transport facilities, ships, aircraft, etc.
